Voltalia 20 Years – Benjamin Simonis

Our video series continues with an inspiring testimonial from Benjamin Simonis, CEO of Helexia, a proud subsidiary of the Voltalia Group. In this new episode, Benjamin shares how both Helexia and Voltalia empower people to grow — not just through titles, but through transformation, purpose, and mutual trust. From feeling at home around the world to driving the energy transition together, the Voltalia spirit lives on through Helexia.

Benjamin Simonis, CEO of Helexia

What memory stands out the most for you at Voltalia?

It's a very big memory I have is that when Helexia was acquired by Voltalia in 2019, Sébastien Clerc and Michel Crémieux, they gave us two pieces of advice. The first one was to trust the Voltalia environment, which we did. And the second one was to think big, to think large for Helexia within this ecosystem, which we did as well. And since then, Helexia has grown very much to reach its actual size. And it's a fantastic story within this ecosystem of Voltalia.

Which Voltalia value resonates the most with you?

For me, definitely entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is at the heart of the system, at Helexia, at Voltalia and within the global Mulliez environment. In this environment, you can have specific skills, a training, a "formation", you can be a lawyer, an engineer, a finance guy and have a totally different work. Some days later, you can become a CEO, you can become a project manager, you can become an HR specialist without all the credentials necessary to access this job. And there is a trust in the people to do this transformation internally. And that's really a beautiful asset from the company.

Chinese portrait: If Voltalia were a book, a work, a celebrity...?

I would pick the book "Around the World in 80 days" from Jules Vernes. Because Jules Vernes, is a French author like Voltalia, is a French company. But somehow, like in this book, we feel at home everywhere in the world because we are an international group.

What do you wish for Voltalians?

It's the easiest and the hardest question I think! Basically, I wish us to be as successful as we want, as successful as we deserve, as successful as we can. And for that, I really wish us the best of energy, the best of luck, and the best of leadership to get there.
